Hi All,
I hope that this finds you all well. I would like to start this update with several prayer requests. You all have been so faithful to lift your prayers that I have been led to add more people to your lists. The new addition today is actually one of my update group members, his name is Wesley Hargraves. Bob and I have known Wes and his wife Carm for almost forty years. They stood up for Bob and I when we were married( we eloped / but that's a story for another day).
Wes has been battling pneumonia for the last three months. He has had emphysema for awhile and between the damage it has done and the prolonged infection, his lungs are in really bad shape. He has just come home from Emory and is waiting to see if his tests are good enough for him to be put on the lung transplant list. They have ask that we pray for God's perfect will to be done in the decision of the team. Also, Wes is on oxygen via face mask constantly and it is very taxing for him to try and eat. He is supposed to try and build up his body and his energy while he is at home, so Carm is trying to finds ways to help him get nourishment. Also, and this is imperative, he cannot get any infections, especially an upper respiratory infection or it could be disastrous. So please pray for his well being and that the Lord will undertake for both of them at this critical time in their lives. My friend Celestia Tarver has had to change chemo therapy drugs again. Her last scan showed no shrinkage of the neck tumor and an increase in the lesions of her liver. Please pray that the doctors will have the wisdom to find just the right treatment to bring her recurrence into remission. Also, please pray for Ed and Celestia, that they will have peace and comfort as they go through this time of uncertainty.
My blood work was semi-OK. I have now earned a new drug, lucky me. It is Procrit for my red blood count. SOOOO now I have a drug for my white and my red counts. At least I don't have any other color to worry about. I have been really dragging my posterior for the last few weeks and hopefully this new drug will help that. Garfield (the cat) and I pencil in our naps as soon as we get up in the mornings. Other than the exhaustion, I feel pretty well and am ready to finish this stuff. The Lord has been gracious and gives me grace for each new day. Bob is doing well too and we are traveling this road hand in hand with the Lord as our guide.
I pray for you all daily and so appreciate your ongoing prayers and concern. Please allow me to thank you also from the friends I have added to your prayer lists. We all are in God's hands and are comforted by that each day. We have a praise song that we sing at church that speaks to exactly what I have just said, please allow me to share it with you.
It is from Ps. 103:11 Think About His Love
Think about His love, think about His goodness, Think about His grace that's brought us through. For as high as the heavens above, so great is the measure of our Father's love. Great is the measure of our Father's love. May this bring as much peace and comfort to your hearts as it does to mine. I love you all and I will continue to keep you up to date on me and my friends. You are courageous prayer warriors!
